I am not sure how it happened or where the last 24 years have gone but my eldest son and his partner have just presented Debbie and I with our first Grandchild a beautiful (confirmed by my son) Grand Daughter.
I have already been deafened over the winter months every evening by the clattering together of my wife's knitting needles as she went into full scale production of asssorted baby related knitwear.
Kora arrived this afternoon and is unprepared for the chaos she is about to experience. Suffice it to say my wife is one of six and all are married and have proved to be extremely fertile so if you add in me and my brother and our total of four kids and his two granchildren you can imagine what a family party is like.
At least we can ease her into it gradually and she will only have to put up with me and Debbie today.
It does mean I will get an opportunity to use my camera again on something interesting plus we will get our spare room back which has been stuffed full of pushchairs, car seats and the like for months.
My ponds have only frozen for a couple of days this year as our part of Devon has got off lightly in the winter stakes and I have made sure there is always a clear spot so hopefully the Dragons lurking under the surface will make an appearance in the summer.
Bird life in the garden has been rather boring with nothing unusual to report. Graham and I have been out a few times but all rather predictable although we have picked out a couple of sites with Dragon potential which I shall reveal in a future blog.
We are also heading to La Brenne in the early summer to see what we can find and based on earlier reports it should be a good spot.
Hopefully the countdown to Dragons will pick up the pace by my internal Odonata clock we are at 2 months and counting.
